America is facing a global onslaught of a powerful anti-American coalition. This is not about an anti-Islam movie. Neither is it about the Arab spring. America's foes from Al Qaeda to Russia to China have coalesced all their power to affect change within America and globally.
The Islamic world's reaction to the anti-Islam movie was to be expected. Forget religion, if someone cursed one's mum enough times, at some stage one would commit a crime. Violence cannot be condoned. At the same time, if we want to get our diagnosis right, we must see beyond this despicable movie.
Ah, yes, this is about Syria. Actually not Syria but what Syria represents. It represents the collapse of the 20th century Franco-British order in the Middle East. America has been busy dismantling the unnatural and explosive situation in the middle east since early 1980s. The anti-American forces always wanted to respond but they never managed to align complex layers of interests. Now, for various reasons, the anti-American coalition found a window of opportunity to act. The window will be narrow, but the damage is already great.
Who exactly is this coalition? It is a complex group of opportunists from Russia to China from AQ to bankers to the Iranians. They represent the Syses-Picot world. Read their own sources, you'll find them in their crocodile tears for what's happening around the Islamic world.
What should America do? Deal with China and Russia first
The first step the US must take is far away from the Muslim streets. Russia and China must be punished. Already, Russia paid far too small a price for its aggression on US ally Georgia the previous summer. Russia and China are both extremely sensitive and vulnerable to ethno-religious violence. They should be ashamed that they seemed to have forgotten that in the past decade, their soft bellies were kept safe thanks to the selfless cooperation of Washington. The immediate response by the US should be to minimize counter-terrorism cooperation with China and Russia.
Putin's vanity and greed are not enough to keep the cauldron of Caucasus under control. The moment US downgrades cooperation, we'll see the Russian Empire crumbling at its edges.
China is not any better. They already have a volatile situation in their Xinkiang Province. The inhabitants of this ethnic Turkic land share the same culture as the rest of Russian central Asia. AQ is already super-stong in the infamous Osh valley, ready to blow not only the dictatorship of Uzbekistan but also China's interests into pieces.
No time to give up on Syria
Since Syria has proven to be so central to the interests of the anti-American coalition, this is the time for a surge in Syria, not a withdrawal. The US must find a way to provide heavy weaponry to the Syrian opposition. Limited number of anti-tank and anti-air missiles should be provided to trusted elements within the ranks of the Syrian opposition.
Israel - Iran
The intransigent ruling elite in Israel have proven to be more than a thorn for the US. As Washington continued to corner Tehran quite effectively, the Israeli elite only made the security calculations more complex. The US must engineer regime change in Israel and support the election of a new breed of Israeli politicians who see eye to eye with Washington on all matters. The security of every Israeli citizens must be guaranteed by the US and in return Israel must come under complete US control in terms of its external security. Washington cannot afford to allow a group of questionable Israeli leaders.
The financial system
A lot of this is about money. The Obama administration heroically fought with this anti-American coalition that wanted to destroy the global financial system a long time ago. These are a group of people and companies that are well known to the deepest layers of the US system. The public need not know the details; but this is no time to be lenient on the behemoths who continue to fund the flames of unrest globally. The Obama administration must let the biggest of these concerns go under so that they cannot anymore use their power to influence events around the world. Whatever dirt is available on the leaders of this cabal should be made public. They should be named and shamed.
Finally, the US Elections
Yes, this is about destroying the re-election chances of Barack Obama. The best move for the American system is to do everything possible to ensure that Obama is reelected. A Romney administration in White House will be something worse than a Bush-Cheney presidency. America cannot afford it. The World cannot afford it.
A Message to Muslims
Sorry your holiest values were insulted. But be smart: This is not about you. This is about America. You are being directed against America by shadowy global powers who are far bigger enemies of Muslims than the makers of the reprehensible anti-Islam movie. Stay at home. Keep your children away from the streets of fitna. Stay out of trouble.
